Webinar on funding opportunities with Africa
The webinar Funding Opportunities for Collaboration with Africa 2023, was hosted by EDUCase Platform and conducted on February, 8, 2023.
EDUCase Network hosted the webinar and organized the webinar with the four MEC-supported Global South networks focusing on Africa; EDUCase Network, FAPI, GINTL Africa, and SAFINET.
With over one hundred participants, the webinar shed light on current funding tools, opportunities, and mechanisms from a variety of sources. The presenters provided guidance to potential applications about current funding opportunities and described the thematic aims of the funding tools. The webinar sessions also included an update on funding calls that will be launched to support collaboration and sustainable impact with African partners. The different sessions were accordingly:
- "Background: Finnish and EU policies and financing for cooperation with African higher education" (Johanna Toivonen de Gonzales/ University of Turku)
- Erasmus+ & Horizon Europe (Ville Myllynpää/ University of Turku)
- Higher Education Partnership (HEP) & Team Finland Knowledge (TFK) programmes (Anna Björnberg-Michelsson/ Aalto University on behalf of Kaija Pajala/ Finnish National Agency for Education)
- International foundations (Maaria Manyando/ University of Helsinki)
- International organizations & databases (Anna Björnberg-Michelsson/ Aalto University)
